In a 2022 report to Congress, the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) stated, "It is estimated that the lifetime cost for an individual with autism without ID [Intellectual Disability] in the United States is $1.4 million, rising to $2.4 million for an individual with co-occurring ID. Approximately 79% of these costs are incurred by needed services, including non-medical services."
